The NTA delegation was headed by Mr. Nedal Elbatayneh, Acting Director of the Department of Strategic Planning and Government Excellence. The UAE team had met with their Jordanian counterparts and examined key issues relating to the delivery of efficient Land Transport services through the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI), reviewed the Jordanian Customs and excise systems and processes, and the management of passenger and freight systems. The Jordanian had an efficient and an impressive system which is based on international best practice. The NTA main objective was to develop a world-class system that is differentiated and aimed at providing excellence in service delivery to its customers in the UAE and elsewhere. It should be noted that the NTA team had learned many lessons from their Jordanian counterpart, particularly in connection with the high quality and fast response in facilitating the movement of people and goods across the Jordanian borders. In order to find out more about the governance of the Jordanian Ministry of Transport Systems, the NTA met with HE Eng. Alaa Elbatayneh, the Minister of Transport of the Kingdom of Jordan, the NTA team expressed their gratitude for his Excellency courtesy in facilitating the NTA team visit and providing unfettered access to all the Ministry of Transport procedures and processes as well as the support given by the Jordanian Staff including HE the General Director of the Jordanian Customs and Excise Lieutenant General Mr. Ghaleb AL Sararyah. The NTA team conveyed the appreciation of HE Sheikh Hamdan AL Nahyan, the Minister of Public Works, Chairman of the NTA, also an expression of gratitude from the NTA Director General HE Dr. Nasser Sail AL Mansoori for the Jordanian dedication to service quality and the good examples they have set in the service of the Land Transport sector and their professional collaborative working with others, particularly the UAE. It should be noted that the Kingdom of Jordan, Custom and Excise department had previously won the praise of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid AL Maktoum, the deputy president, Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, and won the best performing department in the Arab World in the field of the Customs and Excise, also the same department had won His Majesty King Abdulla, the second, the Award for Excellence in differentiation and service delivery.
The NTA is keen to develop its internal systems further and committed to bring best industry practice to the UAE. |
